Advanced Training for OTIS technicians

Good elevator technology requires more than just basic knowledge. Especially with complex malfunctions, modern controls, and frequency converters, in-depth knowledge is essential. That is why Fortadio recently provided an advanced training for OTIS technicians within the Fortadio Academy. Following an earlier basic training, this Advanced Training was entirely focused on technical depth, practical experience, and analyzing complex situations from the field.

In-depth study in Kollmorgen control technology

During the Kollmorgen Advanced Training, the technicians delved deeper into replacing and programming components, software updates, and parameter management within elevator installations. In addition, extensive practice was done with learning rides, fine adjustments, and analyzing malfunctions in realistic practical situations.

By actively working on practice-oriented cases, a direct link was created between theory and execution. It is precisely this practical aspect that is central to Fortadio's training: not only understanding how technology works, but also learning how to efficiently analyze and structurally resolve malfunctions.

Advanced Training in ZIEHL-ABEGG frequency controllers

In addition to the control technology, the technicians also underwent extensive training focused on the frequency controllers of ZIEHL-ABEGG. During this session, there was a deeper dive into software updates, measurement and analysis functions, and optimizing drive curves and drives. Maintenance and replacement procedures for components such as brakes, encoders, and microswitches were also covered extensively. By training on realistic installations and practical situations, technicians gain more insight into system behavior and learn to respond more quickly to complex faults in the field.

Practice-oriented training within the Fortadio Academy

Within the Fortadio Academy, everything revolves around learning by doing. No long theoretical courses, but practice-oriented training that can be applied directly in daily work. By continuously training technicians in new techniques, software, and fault analysis, knowledge and craftsmanship remain at a high level. This ultimately ensures safer installations, more efficient maintenance, and better performance in the field.

All participating technicians have successfully completed the Advanced Training.
